Sedimentary rocks are types of rocks that are formed by the deposition of material at Earth's surface and within bodies of water.

Characteristics of sedimentary rocks

-Rounded-appearing mineral and rock particles that are cemented together.

-Often in layers.

-Soft. 
-Contain fossils.
-Easily breakable; tends to scrape and crumble easily.
