What are metamorphic rocks?
Rocks that arise from the transformation of existing rock types, in a process called metamorphism, which means "change in form". 






Characteristics of metamorphic rocks:
-Contains crystals/minerals lined up.
-Often in layers, sheet-like
-Hard.
